If it ever starts to smell, you can boil the sponge in water for a few minutes and air dry it. This sanitizes and disinfects the sponge, something that can't be done with traditional plastic sponges.
We asked the Founder and President of GCF Mike Veale to explain how they fight against poaching:
"GCF works on the ground in up to 18 countries a year in Africa and Asia. We work hand-in-hand with rangers, communities, non-profits, government officials, wildlife veterinarians, and researchers to tackle multiple areas of need from the ground. We operate with 5 main pillars of conservation, each a life force of its own with multiple avenues.
Our core conservation pillars include - Anti-Poaching, Counter Wildlife Trafficking, Community Based Conservation Efforts, Education and Awareness, and True Conservation (Research, Wildlife Rehabilitation, Wildlife Veterinary). Each avenue tackles true issues where people and wildlife meet to make the strongest impact."
Thanks to these vetted efforts, we can thank GCF for keeping so much of our wildlife safe and for bringing much-needed awareness and education!
Currently, our biggest goal is to help multiple biodiverse reserves recover wildlife protection and conservation operations. This includes sponsoring ranger salaries, advanced ranger training programs, and equipment for the wildlife protection and conservation staff..." – Mike Veale, Founder and President
These donations are important for them to keep doing the amazing and important work they do and why we want to get these proceeds to them!
Meet GCF'S Working Dogs
ANTI-POACHING K9S
GCF's Belgian Malinois dogs are a man and wildlife's best friend – with their agility, intelligence, and hunting instincts they have been helpful partners to anti-poaching units across Africa. On the field, these dogs are great at tracking and apprehending poachers – specifically sniffing out pangolin scales, rhino horn, and ivory.
Since 2015, GCF has supported and sponsored K9 anti-poaching units. Prior to receiving a trained K9, they ensure that the ranger unit is certified and trained. They must also have a stable reserve management infrastructure that ensures they will be taken good care of!

These hardworking dogs and their relationships with animals are one of many things that caught our eyes (and our hearts) for the organization. Read more about them!

Meet the Founder & President of GCF
Mike Veale
In 2014, after years of watching the wild populations of animals under his care rapidly dwindle, Mike decided to take action. His lengthy wildlife care career, combined with his experience in conservation, working as a ranger in California, and active, combat-sport-heavy lifestyle, gave Mike the unique experience needed to fight on the front line of conservation.
